FAQs
How do I order NGS project?
Contact info@dnaclick.org for an initial engagement of your project.
Our consultant will go through your project design to come up with most cost-effective approach. Once you are engaged, our team will go through the formal contract, Purchase Order (if applicable), order details and sample shipping information.
Where are my samples sequenced?
DNAClick partnered with only internationally recognised sequencing service provider who are CPS programs approved by illumina, Pacbio Biosciences,Thermo Fisher Scientific and Agilent Technology. CLIA/CAP approved sequencing service is also available upon your request. We prioritise the quality data being delivered at quickest without hefty fees.
Where do I send my samples?
During consultation you will be guided/offered to which sequencing provider will best suit your project, our consultant will guide you through the sample shipping details.
How should I pack my samples?
Primarily, it is best to keep to samples intact.
Samples in tubes:
Place the sealed microcentrifuge tube in a 50 ml disposable screw-cap tube or other suitable container for additional insulation to minimise any risk of physical damage or samples being rattled during the shipping.
Samples in plate:
Please ensure the seal is secure to avoid any contamination.
Samples in dry ice:
Once again, the sample must be secure and well insulated to avoid any risk of physical damage. Please ensure enough dry ice is being used.
How do I prepare my samples?
DNA Samples– Prepare DNA sample(s) in commercial buffer or Distilled water at a minimum concentration and volume required (Please check the sample criteria).
– Screw cap tube is recommended or 1.5~2.0ml microcentrifuge tube tightly sealed and parafilm wrapped can be used.
– Please ensure they are clearly labelled.
– If possible, include a brief description of the DNA extraction and/or enrichment protocol used.
– Please pack them with ice packs but they can be delivered in ambient temperature.
RNA Samples– Prepare RNA sample(s) in commercial buffer, EtOH or DEPC treated water clearly labelled screw cap tube or 1.5~2.0ml microcentrifuge tube tightly sealed and parafilm wrapped.
– Include a brief description of the RNA extraction and/or enrichment protocol used.
– Dry ice shipping: Please ensure you have plenty of dry ice, 4~5kg of dry ice lasts 24-36hrs.
How do I pay for the sequencing services?
You can pay via Wire transfer and credit card payment.
Can I make prepayment for my project?
Yes, this option is available upon request. Please contact our consultant to make the arrangements.
What Is the turnaround time?
It depends on many circumstances but for NGS work, 4–6 weeks is our usual turnaround time from the time the sample QC has passed.
Should I perform QC before sending the samples?
Recommended but not mandatory as we will be doing that at our end too. We will use our QC result to determine the progress of the project.
How do I obtain the data after a project is completed?
Once completed, the data can be transferred via FTP downloads, HDD or Cloud.
What happens to my data and sample once completed?
By default, your data and sample will be discarded permanently 3 months after the result delivered. You need to inform us if you want to extend the retention period (fee may incur).
